Using Academic Progress Monitoring for Individualized Instructional Planning (DBI Professional Learning Series Module 2)
This collection of training materials was updated as of October 2024. It can be used to provide an overview of academic progress monitoring and how it fits within the data-based individualization (DBI) process by providing approaches and tools for academic progress monitoring and showing how to use progress monitoring data to set ambitious goals, make instructional decisions, and plan programs for individual students with intensive needs. The content is broken into four presentations. Each presentation includes slides with suggested speaker notes and workbooks or embedded activities. The modules are intended to be delivered by a trained, knowledgeable professional.

The module Introduction to Academic Progress Monitoring in Intensive Intervention includes training materials and activities that provide an overview of academic progress monitoring.

The module Selecting an Academic Progress Monitoring Measure includes training materials and activities focused on the selection of academic progress monitoring measures that match students' target behaviors.

The module Establishing Baseline and Setting Goals includes training materials and activities focused on developing a progress monitoring plan that includes a baseline and goal. The module covers three research-based goal setting strategies.

The module Collecting, Graphing, and Analyzing Progress Monitoring Data includes training materials and activities focused on considerations for collecting and graphing progress monitoring data and using decision-making rules to interpret data.
