Multiplying 23 × 19 Using Traditional Algorithm
This video reviews to how use the traditional algorithm to solve multiplication with regrouping. The traditional algorithm focuses on digit placement and requires that students move right to left to correctly perform the operation. Before students are introduced to the standard multiplication algorithm, they should have a conceptual understanding of repeated addition and regrouping. Once mastered, the traditional algorithm can be an efficient tool for students to use to solve multiplication problems with numbers of that have varying numbers of digits.
