NCII Deputy Director
Dr. Sarah Arden serves as the deputy director for NCII and is a principal researcher at AIR. Arden also leads the MTSS practice area at AIR and directs several state and local projects related to MTSS implementation. She has presented at national and international conferences and published articles focused on implementation of intensive intervention, development of high-quality IEPs, special education service delivery, RTI/MTSS, and improving outcomes for students with disabilities. Dr. Arden was an OSEP Fellowship Scholar at the University of Texas at Austin where she supported large-scale randomized control trials investigating mechanisms to increase academic outcomes and improve the school experience for students with disabilities. Prior to earning her Ph.D., Dr. Arden worked at the California Department of Education and taught elementary special education in the Central California area.
