Louis Danielson

Louis Danielson, PhD, is a managing director at American Institutes for Research, where he serves as a center advisor for the National Center for Intensive Intervention and the lead for multiple state and federal projects. Dr. Danielson has extensive experience in intensive intervention, assessment, IEP development and implementation, and special education policy. He previously served as Division Director for the Research to Practice Division at Office of Special Education Program (OSEP) where he initiated and led work that resulted in funding for many MTSS-related projects including the National Center on Student Progress Monitoring, the National Center on Response to Intervention Center (now the MTSS Center), and the Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS) Center. During his tenure at OSEP, he directed two national studies implemented in response to congressional and other stakeholder concerns related to the IEP paperwork and the perceived administrative burden of IEP requirements.
